Therapy for the development of R and L sounds in a child with speech difficulties

Therapy for the development of R and L sounds in a child with speech difficulties.

As part of an individual program, a comprehensive therapy approach was implemented using the following methods:

– Myofascial relaxing speech therapy massage

– Activating oral massage

– Orofacial stimulation

– Massage using the Z-Vibe tool

– Probe (zonal) massage

To elicit the R sound, a mechanical method was used involving tongue fixation in the “mushroom” position, focused attention on breathing, active vibration, and pressure while producing the D sound.

The therapy was aimed not only at correcting articulation, but also at improving motor control, sensory sensitivity, and the child’s speech focus.
